MacroFab now lets you select additional services on your PCB design to ensure the full scope of your product is captured and communicated throughout the assembly process.
Adding Additional Services on PCBs
Additional services are available on your PCB design on the "Additional Services" step. MacroFab will quote these steps according to the order quantity you request and the work instructions you upload.
Work instructions should be uploaded whenever additional services are requested to give specific instructions. Work instructions can be a single file listing all of the work required or multiple files.
Previous Orders with Additional Services
If you ordered a design with an additional service like conformal coating you don't need to do anything for existing orders. MacroFab will complete those orders as agreed.
For new orders of those designs, please add the additional services needed to ensure the work gets tracked effectively.
Available Additional Services
MacroFab offers several optional services in addition to standard PCB assembly. These services ensure that your finished products meet environmental, functional, and mechanical requirements.
Box Build
Box Build refers to secondary or mechanical assembly beyond the PCB. This may include installing boards into enclosures, attaching brackets or mounts, adding battery packs, or performing final system integration.
Conformal Coating
Conformal Coating is a protective chemical layer applied to PCBs to guard against moisture, dust, chemicals, and temperature extremes. It extends product reliability in harsh environments.
Testing
Testing services validate that assemblies work as intended. Options may include functional test (FCT), in-circuit test (ICT), or customer-provided procedures. Testing ensures that assemblies meet performance requirements before shipment.
Labels
Labels are applied for traceability and identification. This can include barcodes, serialization, customer-specific stickers, or compliance labels.
Custom PCBA Instructions
Custom PCBA Instructions capture unique process requirements beyond standard assembly. Examples include firmware programming, special soldering requirements, component placement variations, or other customer-specified instructions.
Wire Harness
Wire Harness assembly includes cable assemblies, wiring looms, or harnesses that connect PCBs to other modules or components.
Press-Fit Assembly
Press-Fit Assembly involves installing press-fit connectors or components that are mechanically secured into plated through-holes without soldering.
